A fair licensing model.
A license is $30 for the first year and $15 for each year after, and it is never a subscription. While it is active you get unlimited connections, the schema diagram, every update we ship, and two of your machines. Without one, Bobby Tables runs as a free trial with one database connection and one file connection, for as long as you like.

The free trial has no clock, no account, and no nag. It is the same download, capped at one database connection and one file connection.

How a license works
One year at a time,
never a subscription.
$30 covers the first year.
Pay once, activate up to 2 machines, and everything is unlocked for a year: unlimited connections, the schema diagram, and every update we ship.
Renew for $15, or don't.
Renewals are never automatic. When your year ends the app keeps working with the free trial limits until you renew. Renew early and the year is added to the end of your term; renew after it lapsed and the year starts that day. No days are wasted either way.
Two machines, managed by you.
Activation is verified offline, so the app works on a plane. It checks in quietly in the background, and an outage or a server error leaves an activated license exactly as it was. Deactivate a machine you no longer use at bobbytables.app/account.

Do I need an account?
Not for the free app. Buying gives you a key by email; the account page at bobbytables.app/account is where you manage machines and renewals, and you sign in to it with your purchase email.
What does the app send?
Activating a license sends the key, a machine identifier, your hostname, the platform, and the app version to api.bobbytables.app. After that a licensed app sends its signed receipt back to the same host twice: a background check-in about once a day, and an update check that asks which version your license is entitled to. The free trial sends only the update check, without a receipt. Nothing else leaves your machine: no analytics, no crash reports, and never your connections, credentials, queries, or files.
Buying for a team?
Pick a seat count at checkout. You get one key with that many seats on it, and each seat adds 2 machine activations to the pool.
What if I activate one machine more than the allowance?
It activates, and the machine you have used least recently is signed out to make room. Nothing fails and nothing has to be cleaned up first. Coming back to a machine you were signed out of does not cost a second slot.
What's in the free trial?
The whole app with one database connection and one file connection, both open at the same time. Delete a connection to try another. It has no expiry date and it is the same download.
What happens when my year ends?
The app keeps working with the free trial limits, and your key and machines stay on your account. Renew for $15 and everything unlocks again for a year. The app picks the renewal up the next time it checks in, or right away with Refresh under Preferences → License.
Refunds?
Within 14 days of purchase, reply to your receipt email. Refunding deactivates the license.
Invoices / VAT?
The Stripe receipt includes tax details. Need a formal invoice with a VAT ID? Reply to your receipt email.
