License agreement

This is the agreement that covers using the Bobby Tables app, with a license or on the free trial. What it grants, what the term is, and what it asks of you.

In effect since September 5, 2026.

What this agreement covers

This agreement is between you and Altumo Software of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and it governs your use of the Bobby Tables app. Installing or running the app means you accept it, with or without a license.

Buying, renewing and refunds are in the terms of service. What the app sends us is in the privacy policy.

The license we grant

A license is a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Bobby Tables for the length of its term. Each seat may be activated on up to 2 machines at a time.

You may use it for personal or commercial work, and a company that buys seats may assign them to its own people.

The free trial

Without a license the app runs as a free trial under this same agreement: the whole app, with one saved database connection and one saved file connection. The trial has no expiry date and it is the same download.

We may change what a future version of the trial includes. We do not change what a version you have already installed does.

The term

A license runs for one year from the day it is issued. It is not a subscription: nothing renews on its own and nothing is charged automatically.

Renewing adds a year. Renew before the term ends and the year is added to the end of it; renew after it has ended and the year starts the day you renew.

When a term ends without a renewal the app keeps working at the free trial limits. Your key and your machines stay on your account, and a renewal unlocks everything again.

Machines and activation

Activation binds a license to a machine and returns a signed receipt the app verifies locally, so it works offline. The app checks in about once a day.

Activating one machine past the allowance signs out the machine used least recently rather than failing. You can also release a machine yourself at bobbytables.app/account.

Updates

Every update we publish during your term is included, and the app installs them itself. We do not promise a release schedule, and we do not promise that any particular feature will ship.

An update can change or remove a feature. The notes the updater shows say what changed in that release.

What you may not do

Using Bobby Tables, you agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, rent or share a license key beyond the seats it was bought for.
  • Work around, disable or tamper with licensing, activation or update checks.
  • Reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right despite this term.
  • Use the app to break the law, or against systems you are not authorized to reach.
  • Present the app as your own product.

Your data and your responsibility

Bobby Tables connects to systems you choose and acts on them with credentials you supply. You are responsible for having the right to reach those systems and for what you run against them.

The app can change and delete data: row edits, generated SQL, file transfers, deletions. It shows you the statement before it runs and asks before a destructive file operation, but the decision is yours. Keep your own backups.

None of that data reaches us. The privacy policy is the short list of what does.

Who owns what

Bobby Tables stays ours. A license buys the right to use it for a term, not ownership of the app or of its source.

What you do with it is yours. We claim nothing in your data, your queries, your schemas or your files.

The app is built on open-source components that keep their own licenses, and nothing here changes them.

Ending this license

You can stop using the app at any time, and uninstalling it ends this agreement for you.

We can revoke a license after a refund, a chargeback, or a serious breach of this agreement, and we will tell you why. A revoked license drops the app to the free trial limits rather than stopping it.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Changes apply from the day they are published, and they never change the price or the length of a term you have already paid for.

No warranty

Bobby Tables, this website and the licensing service are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that they are free of defects, that they fit a particular purpose, or that they will run without interruption. Some jurisdictions do not allow parts of that exclusion, and where they do not, it does not apply to you.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profit, lost revenue, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim connected to the app, a license or this website is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
